Sennheiser HD 419 Headphones
The Sennheiser HD 419 is an impressive output from the manufacturers. Undoubtedly the appearance of the headphones is just as important as its tonal quality; and the HD 419 performs well in this category. This is a pair of circumaural headphones, or in other words, they cover the entire ear. There is comfortable padding in the ear-cups which provide a sturdy as well a very comfortable fit.
The headband, it should be mentioned is very flexible; that however does not imply that we twist it simply to test its durability. They sit comfortably on the ears without movement, and manage to cut out most of the outside sound. Another feature in the Sennheiser HD 419 is the cable. It is very thin compared to all other headphones in this particular category and is attached to a gold plated 3.5 mm jack on the left ear cup. While one is likely to worry about the cable and its durability, rest assured, it is made for daily use. The HD 419 box does not include any carry bag for portability of the headphones, which forces you to shove it in your backpack or throw around your neck during travel. Well, this pair of headphones can take it; might have been why the makers never included a drawstring bag.
Sennheiser works sound quality as much as they pay attention to the look of the headphones. They claim a “punchy bass” and they do, in fact, deliver on the front. The bass is the outcome of the use of neodymium magnets. You are to love the bass, which is powerful and fills the ear. The mid and high ranges are also balanced beautifully. The lower frequencies have a lot of energy but it does not mean that the lower frequencies dominate the mid and higher frequencies. However, it is not the perfect piece for a true audiophile seeking technical brilliance. It was found that the sound quality varied depending on the media source. The iPad and iPhone produced the best quality, followed by Galaxy note and the Nokia Lumia 800.
For everyday use, the Sennheiser HD 419 is a good investment and not too expensive either. In its price category, it is a good pair of headphones that has a lot to give to the user. Also, if you are willing to compromise on the sound specifications a little, then the Sennheiser HD 419 is undoubtedly a good buy.
